Good news for deal shoppers: Southwest Airlines is offering 25% off some flights booked with Rapid Rewards points for travel on eligible dates from Jan. 7-May 22, 2025, as long as you book by Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024.

Because Southwest does not generally publish its sale routes, the quickest way to find this deal is by using its Low Fare Calendar to search your desired route with the promo code “POINTS25” added. You’ll quickly be able to spot both the cheapest days to travel and the days and routes where the promo is active, as evidenced by one price with a strikethrough and then a lower price also displayed.
In my searches, this is not one of the most widely available sales I’ve seen from Southwest, but it’s still worth a quick search if you have some existing Southwest award travel booked at that time or are considering a trip. Remember you can rebook Southwest award flights at no penalty if the price drops.

Bottom line
This sale is somewhat unique in that it only applies to bookings with Southwest Rapid Rewards points, which TPG values at 1.4 cents apiece as of December 2024. If you have Rapid Rewards points to use and are planning on taking a trip in early 2025 (or had one booked, you want to reprice), this deal is worth a look.
