Belize has introduced a new online system for immigration and customs declarations, aimed at simplifying the entry and exit process for all travellers.
This innovative platform enables visitors to conveniently submit their immigration and customs details ahead of time via a user-friendly web link. The system improves data accuracy and streamlines the overall travel experience for those arriving in or departing from Belize.
Starting now, the system is accessible to travellers arriving and departing from Philip Goldson International Airport. A phased rollout over the next three months will ensure a smooth transition to a fully digital process.
Throughout the trial phase, both digital and paper forms will be accepted. However, the public is encouraged to opt for the digital version, which is intended to offer a smoother and more efficient experience. Travellers are also invited to share their feedback to help refine the system. In the second phase, the platform will be expanded to cover all entry points.
With the peak tourism season on the horizon, Belize anticipates that this shift will substantially reduce, and ultimately eliminate, the reliance on paper forms, enabling quicker and more streamlined immigration and customs procedures for all visitors.
Belize is now more accessible to Canadians than ever before, offering seasonal direct flights from Toronto and Calgary, along with increased connections via the United States.
